Mindfulness in Social Work Practice

Queen P & Queen H Season 3 Episode 6

Hey y’all! It’s Mental Health Awareness Month, and we’re back with another episode focused on holistic approaches to mental health. This time, we’re exploring the transformative power of mindfulness in social work practice—and how anyone can integrate it into their daily lives.

For this episode, we spoke with Ebony, aka Queen E, the founder of Ebony’s Mindful Moves.  With nearly 15 years of social work experience in family therapy, mentoring and college success programs, Ebony is a passionate leader in the field.  Recognizing the challenges of maintaining a healthy school-work-life balance, she created Ebony’s Mindful Moves—a Black-affirming space where mindfulness practices like meditation, self-care, community care and positive affirmations are prioritized.

During the pandemic, Queen E pivoted her services to virtual platforms, offering free weekly community meditations and wellness products that have reached individuals across the U.S. and Canada.  Her mission is to make mindfulness an accessible and essential part of everyday life for young men and women.

Join us as we discuss how mindfulness can enhance social work practice, support mental wellness and create a more balanced life.
