For the 2nd Episode in Season 6 we spoke with Monica Gavilanes, LMSW aka Queen M is an intergenerational trauma & liberation centered therapist and educator from Queens, NY. She is the owner of Roots & Alchemy PLLC, a healing hub for racially marginalized people that offers both individual and community based offerings through a decolonized lens. Her mission is to be a guide for both therapists and therapy seekers in recognizing their cultural amnesia and reclaim mental wellness for themselves and their lineage." 

In this episode we learn more about decolonizing Social Work, what that means, what it can look like in our every day practice and in our personal lives. More importantly we touch of accepting our full self, recognizing our power and deciding how we want to proceed with that knowledge.
